Narration Conducive To Books Free Fall
"Understanding suffering always helps the energy of compassion to be born." ~ Thich Nhat Hanh In an instant my husband stripped away my identity as wife, stay-at-home mom, and best friend. With his suicide, our world changed forever. He'd been the center of our universe, but then he was gone. Grief is a dark journey, one often tainted with judgment and false perceptions. Add the word 'suicide' to the mix and more complications arise. This memoir, Free Fall, is intended for those who may be facing their own tragedy and feeling alone, hopeless, confused, scared, and misunderstood.Free Fall is the journey of piecing our lives back together—overcoming children's anxiety as we traversed the brutal grief and trauma process, learning to say the words 'widow' and 'single mom' without cringing, surviving the fall out with friends and family who simply couldn't understand our healing process, triumphing over the stigma of 'suicide', forgiving my husband, and finding peace after chaos.
Free Fall is for widows, widowers, parents, survivors of suicide, family members or friends of one who mourns. This story is for anyone who needs encouragement that there is another side to grief. There is. We're there now. We're looking back and holding our hands out to you saying, "hang in there, you're not alone, and you'll get here, too."

Get ready for an intense read! Perhaps this struck me because I recently had a family member commit suicide, but I couldn't believe how emotionally intense this book is. I appreciated the unveiled truth this book exposes about what it's really like to have someone you love lost to you in such a tragic and brutal way. Excellent job! I never once thought it was over-the-top. This book is inspiring. Period. It will stay with me a long time, I think...I'm still mulling it over because its impact isI could not put this book down once I started reading it. My friend Sharyn Talbert who wrote Scholar Mine actually introduced me to the memoir genre or I might have passed on Amber Lea Easton's book. I'm so glad I did not. The book is gripping, though emotionally intense. What she does so well is convey the shock and disorientation that goes with the experience of trauma. It's not denial per se as so many have written about grief. As she makes so clear in her poignant memoir, it's as if the
Shattered by her husbands sudden suicide after a vacation in Mexico, Easton struggles to cope with the devastating loss and keep life moving forward for her son and daughter. But the rushing world around her has no patience or time for her recovery. (Spoiler alert) It was heart wrenching to read of the suffering she endured and the insensitivity of friends and family throughout the ordeal. The story is told amazingly well, but as a voracious reader of memoir, what struck a chord with me the most

I saw a feature on "Free Fall" by Amber Lea Easton on a writer's blog [Lucy Pireel] and I was immediately drawn in by the subject: surviving your husband's suicide. The book is truly amazing. Easton opened my eyes to the tragedy and its manifold implications that this period in her life held for her and her children. The book is written in raw honesty but does a splendid job at sticking to the author's side of the experience. Without portraying herself as a victim or accusing those around her who
I wasn't sure about reading this or not, but I'm a fan of the author's romantic suspense so thought I'd take chance. I agree with the other reviewers who say it's NOT just for people who've experienced a similar circumstance. I feel like I've learned so much about what it actually FEELS like to lose a spouse to suicide, to be on the receiving end of judgment and blame, to somehow pick myself up and raise two little kids on top of it all--WOW. I'm so thankful that I took a chance and read
I wish I would have read this sooner. Although my loss was under different circumstances, it's so good to read that someone else has the same thoughts and feelings that I do. It makes this process slightly less lonely.
ill just want to read this.
