Rendition Supposing Books Un luogo incerto (Commissaire Adamsberg #8)

Evaluation About Books Un luogo incerto (Commissaire Adamsberg #8)
I just cant get enough of Commissaire Adamsberg. He is indescribable. This book finds him, as always, deep in trouble, and deeply involved in a seemingly unsolvable mystery. Only he would tackle a case involving vampires. And thats not the weirdest part. If you are looking for a series to fall in love with, this is it.

An Uncertain Place by Fred Vargas is the eighth in a series featuring Commissaire Adamsberg. It is an extremely popular series among French, German, and Italian readers. The characters are a mixture of oddballs not the least Adamsberg who has a disconcerting habit of issuing non sequiturs. I also had difficulties with the names of characters, many having multiple names. An interesting read, but I won't continue the series.

Enjoyable but the plot gets a bit convoluted towards the end. Good series though and also worth watching on tv.

I read the first paragraph, and felt that I was coming home. I love the quirkiness of the thought processes in Fred Vargas' books, and so I was glad to find this book had most of that. I enjoyed the threads that get drawn together for the end.

Im not a huge fan of series of all sorts. I think three to four volumes is enough to maintain readers interest for after awhile novelty and freshness slowly wears off and I feel rather fatigued. But its not the case here. Fred Vargas Commissaire Adamsberg cycle is one of my favourite series for last years. I like almost everything: erudition and profesional backround of the author, Vargas is an archeologist and historian and the world she created around the main protagonist. Jean-Baptiste
