Interpretation In Pursuance Of Books Nevermore (Latchkeys #3)

The kids discovers a raven that has been following Jeremy is actually a Splinter. Before they can do anything about it, the bird flies through an open Door. The Wardens charge after the bird, only to find themselves in 1849 Baltimore. Things are terribly wrong, however. It seems that the stories of Edgar Allan Poe have been coming to life! Moments later they discover the famous author himself and he is very, very ill. He tells the kids that a man named Reynolds is trying to kill him and begins to describe a story he’s writing about a lighthouse. Matt recognizes it as the last story Poe ever worked on—the story he never finished. Will the Latchkeys be able to survive Poe’s final work and escape back to Tanglewood, or will they all be lost forever?

Deliciously creepy!

Debbie Viguié is the New York Times Bestselling author of more than three dozen novels including the Wicked series co-authored with Nancy Holder. In addition to her epic dark fantasy work Debbie also writes thrillers including The Psalm 23 Mysteries, the Kiss trilogy, and the Witch Hunt trilogy. Debbie also plays a recurring character on the audio drama, Doctor Geeks Laboratory. When Debbie isntOur strongest offering yet takes our characters somewhere new and Debbie does a great job spotlighting the era and how the kids deal with something utterly bizarre. A fine read and I am grateful for Debbie's participation with the series.

Cute book about a group of kids who travel through time to collect "splinters" to complete missing "doors". In this story the kids must figure out how Edgar Allan Poe's stories are coming to life. I really enjoyed the story and I think it's a great read for middle grade readers.
