Because I saw this on Fabian's feed, and I just had to review it. I owe everything to Enid Blyton; at least in the reading arena. She's the reason I fell in love with books, and she's the reason I'm here today. I still read her books as a 22 year-old woman, and they still make me feel like a child.The Adventure series is a seriously underrated series. It's also probably my second favourite series by her, because Fatty is the best. But this has Kiki in it you guys! She's a talking parrot and the most adorable thing in the world. Enid Blyton books all have similar themes, but still, still, she is the queen of children's books. And sure, as always, we have four children in this. We have the same sibling rivalry. We have similar mysteries. We have that total badass cop. And we have a loyal animal. And yet, each book is so different, so engaging. My entire childhood was spent hoping, wishing, and praying that someday, I would also get a chance to embark on an adventure like any of these children. Blyton's imagery is perfect, and I wanted to be in Tauri Hessia and all the other places. These books make me so happy, I lose my ability to articulate my feelings about them, so I have nothing more to say, other than "God save the Queen."

Read this with your kids. Its a fantastic series. You will fall in love with all of the characters. We read these over and over. My favorite is the island of adventure.
