Unbreak My Heart (Unbreak My Heart #1)
JT Campbell’s world had been defined by his parents’ money and his own empty relationships, until he couldn’t live that way anymore. A quest to find something more meaningful leads him to Brett’s ranch. It’s supposed to be a brief stay. JT never wanted to be anyone’s savior or compete with the ghosts of lovers past. Still, he can’t help wanting this gruff, mourning man.
JT knows it’s a bad idea, but his heart keeps pushing him to find out what lies beneath Brett’s battered exterior. Brett’s not going to make it easy, so JT can only be patient, keep his sense of humor, and hope one day he’ll be allowed far enough into Brett’s world to unbreak his heart.
4.5 COUNTRY STARSA crusty cowboy, an interfering momma, a crusty ranch foreman and a younger man from California are tossed in a colorful, emotional salad of grief, hope and love with a large dose of humor thrown in. The reason for 4.5 instead of 5 stars? I didn't quite believe TJ's voice. He sounded a bit more country than a California 28 year old would sound and a lot less educated. Otherwise, loved this story.
I was hooked by the premise, but this book just turned out to be okay. It had my biggest romance writing pet peeve in it and it soured the book for me a bit.I hate the meddling friends and family members trope with the power of a thousand suns. I even hate it more than insta-love. At least with insta-love, it can be done well and there are many exceptions to the rule. And if its a well-rounded story, insta-love doesnt really seem that instant or there are other elements to the story that make

I really enjoyed this. There were some parts that broke my heart. Brett and JT were perfect for each other. This was their journey to finding love with each other.
4 Hearts! This was a classic second chance romance made all the better by having it feature a likeable, brooding cowboy and the young stranger who captures his heart.Brett has been wallowing in grief and guilt over the death of his partner 3 years ago. Hes functional but barely, often drowning his sorrows in good ole Jack Daniels. When his overbearing, meddling mom brings home a guy she found on the highway, Brett is none too happy nor impressed.JT hasnt really had it easy either. Hes long been
This was a good, slow building, hurt/comfort romance. Brett is still torn by grief for the lover he lost years ago. He has withdrawn to his ranch and is really just going through the motions and self-medicating with booze. Thanks to his meddling mother, the younger JT arrives at the ranch, seemingly lost and a bit broken, but ready to work until he feels the need to move on. What follows is a slow building friendship and attraction as JT, with the help of the ranch foreman Ray, starts to bring
3.5 Stars Once again, Nick J.Russo narrated the hell out of this book. Hes slowly becoming a must listen for me and boy do I like it when that happens! This was a book about overcoming grief, self discovery, new beginnings and learning how to love again. Brent was going through some next level grief while TJ was lost and hoping to find himself. On the surface, these two shouldnt have worked but they did. They absolutely did.Obviously, it wasnt an easy road & wasnt devoid of outside

Brett’s Taylor’s world collapsed three years ago when he lost the love of his life. Almost as bad as the still-overwhelming grief is the advice he gets from everyone and their brother, telling him to move on with his life. They’re flat-out wrong. Slow burn and very romantic. I found it a bit slow at first..kind of stuck in Brett's pain. When he starts opening up to JT, it gets pretty sweet and hot.4.5 COUNTRY STARSA crusty cowboy, an interfering momma, a crusty ranch foreman and a younger man from California are tossed in a colorful, emotional salad of grief, hope and love with a large dose of humor thrown in.
