In The Voice of the Elders Rohini Haakonsen is requested as a young ambassador on a mission trip to another planet. The Elders want to telepathically teach the young UN students about how to protect the earth since they had to learn the hard way on their own planet. Though Rohini is excited about being chosen, she will be trained as a spy, which promises to be challenging against a civilization that can read minds. There ends up being much more in Rohini going than anyone every expected.I foundGreat first outingGood story line. Some interesting facts about Taoism. Cant wait to find out more about the elders world. Great bad guy who embodies some of the resistance to solving climate change.
Voice of the Elders is a timely SciFi novel about Climate change and where it will certainly lead us if we do not start changing our way of life in some major ways. The twist in this novel? Aliens come and reveal themselves as the Elders at a UN Conference that is addressing the consequences of climate change and the greedy fossil fuel conglomerates upon our planet. Offering help and solutions to our planet in peril, the aliens ask for representatives which is where our main character Rohini

Definitely worth a read. It took me a bit to fully engage with it, but once I did it was off to the races. I learned so much about Daoism, which was an unexpected pleasure. I look forward to the next tale of the Elders and their ambassadors on earth.
DNF.30% into this hot mess, and my brain cells were committing suicide. This book is a hot mess of bad writing, awful to non-existent characterizations, incoherent narrative, and top it with endless clichés. And no to mention, the author seems to be so uncreative and unimaginative, he uses endless- and very pointless- info-dumps that eventually have no impact on the plot (a very non-existent plot, if we're honest), nor does it help you to get to know the characters in the book- in the end,
Rohini had worked hard to get where she was, but she had never imagined her first day in the Youth Assembly, a program focused on the development of sustainable energy, would go quite the way it did. Just as the session started, aliens appeared, and delivered a message of hope, and requested ambassadors to accompany them back to their home world when they return. They asked for recommendations, but these aliens, known as The Elders, had their own delegates in mind, and Rohini is amongst them.
