Gypsy Sixpence
Edison Tesla Marshall (28 August 1894, Rensselaer, Indiana - 29 October 1967 Augusta, Georgia) was an American short story writer and novelist.I found this book at a guest ranch in Montana, desperate for anything to read, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Even though it was written many years ago, and is set in an even older time, it was still an exciting read. I really enjoyed following the hero from his upbringing as a bastard (everyone knew but nobody talked about it) to becoming a respected officer in the British Army, to betrayal, capture and slavery, and finally revenge. It was a very satisfying and enjoyable book.
Wow. I LOVE this cover, this is Richimer and Catherine, and I need to buy this and definitley re-draw it in the poster. Wow.
A very good read.

The first half of this book proves that men can go overboard writing romance too. In the second half, the hero narrator often reminds me of a more cynical Flashman.
