Dunia Anna
I love how the author manage to distill an issue as multidimensional as the environment into a storyline that a young and /or layman's mind can digest. Dunia Anna rocks! Thanks again Jostein Gaarder!
It's just a really good book

This was less like a novel and more like a lecture on climate change. I couldn't finish it.
Good concept, poorly executed.
I loved Sophie's World and its philosophical whirlwind tour, so I had to give this book by the same author a try as it was on several lists of books I should read. It was only 3 hours 51 mins on audiobook, and it started slowly, and continued on slowly detailing a future world and its species dying due to global warming which a teenage girl was dreaming of, yet it all seemed so real. Unfortunately this novel was only an infomercial against global warming, which wouldnt have been so bad, but it's
Well, this book has been languishing on the old to be read pile for quite some time. What can I say, it called to me earlier this afternoon. The problem is I'm not actually sure what I've just read! It's bold, I'll give it that. And it's also a bit 'abstract'. Plus it's a very quick read.Almost sixteen year old Anna experiences premonitions/dreams where she meets her granddaughter, Nana. Where their two existences overlap, their encounters hint at the consequences of our actions which inspires

Frankly this was NOT what I was expecting from a Jostein Gaarder book. Ive read Sophies World, The Solitaire Mystery, The Christmas Mystery and Hello? Is Anybody There? among others but none prepared me for this. Of course he did manage to get me thinking about global warming and the threats posed to the environment and the plant and animal species and he also made me think twice about things we take for granted in nature. But there wasnt a proper story and not much of his labyrinthineI love how the author manage to distill an issue as multidimensional as the environment into a storyline that a young and /or layman's mind can digest.
