Narration Conducive To Books Moon Lake
'"Watch out for the mosquitoes," they called to one another, lyrically because warning wasn't any use anyway, as they walked out of their kimonos and dropped them like the petals of one big scattered flower on the bank behind them, and exposing themselves felt in a hundred places at once the little pangs.'Moon Lake is the story of a summer camp in Mississippi, a surly lifeguard, a rebellious orphan girl, and the fateful day when they learn the secrets of life and death. Pulitzer Prize-winner Eudora Welty's extraordinary short story is a lushly atmospheric and acutely observed portrayal of the strange, surreal time between childhood and adulthood.

I read this for college. If I had read it alone I probably would not have enjoyed it very much. There is a lot going on, the climax is starting and the ending feels like it kind of trails off. It is obviously a piece that should be read for deeper meaning, but that is precisely the thing that makes in unenjoyable from a reading standpoint rather than analytical one.My love for Eudora Welty is endless.
This is a short story about a group of young girls and a lifeguard at a summer camp. A tragedy soon strikes them and startles them. The story is full of strong emotions and intense drama but somehow this book seemed a little tedious for me to read. There were bits I understood and really liked but at other times I could not concentrate or get into the plot as much as I would have liked. Despite reading the story three times, I still feel like I have not understood the story quite well. Compared

Spoilt by its racism.
Like any good shorter story, Moon Lake reads like poetry.
I honestly read this while in a really weird headspace, so take the rating with a pinch of salt. i'll have to eventually revisit this because I hardly understood anything at all.
This is a short story, set in the early 20th century in America, about a girls' summer camp by a lake. For the most part this is a descriptive tale and enjoyable for its well-drawn characters and setting; you feel you are there. Suddenly at the very end there is a dramatic event, (view spoiler)[ a child comes close to death through drowning (hide spoiler)] and this feels at odds with the tone of the rest of the book.
